ABOUT THE TEACHER
Hello! I am very pleased to introduce myself as your child’s kindergarten teacher! My name is Erin Lappe. I was born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago. I attended high school at Regina Dominican in Wilmette, Illinois. I then went to the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, where I majored in Early Childhood Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Reading in 2011 from Concordia University in River Forest, and am a certified Reading Specialist. I became a Responsive Classroom Certified Teacher in 2018, and began working as a Consulting Teacher for Responsive Classroom in 2021.
This is my 14th year teaching, and my 10th year teaching kindergarten. I have also taught first and second grade. I love kindergarten and all of the exploring, learning, and fun that we get to have!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy working out, baking, watching the Cubs and Blackhawks, and reading.
I am looking forward to working with you to help make this year as meaningful and fulfilling as I know it can be for your family. I encourage you to call, email, or write if you have a question, comment, or concern regarding your child’s education. Your dedication and support for their education is crucial to helping your child reach their full potential.
Thank you in advance for your support and dedication in making this year a memorable and exciting one. Again, I look forward to working closely with you to make this a successful year for “our” children.
